Active posting count [active-posting-count] - Definition: The number of distinct public ATS job postings present in a company’s selected successful snapshot. - Calculation: Count distinct source job IDs in the selected company-day snapshot. - Grain: Company × successful UTC snapshot day - Interpretation boundary: The count describes advertised roles, not completed hires, employee headcount, or business performance. 4. Appeared posting count [appeared-posting-count] - Definition: The number of postings present in the current successful snapshot that were absent from the immediately preceding successful UTC-day snapshot. - Calculation: Count current source job IDs not present on the previous consecutive successful UTC date. - Grain: Company × pair of consecutive successful UTC dates - Interpretation boundary: The first snapshot and the first snapshot after a collection gap are unknown, not zero. 5. Verified salary range change [verified-salary-range-change] - Definition: A before-and-after difference in one uniquely matchable employer-published salary range for the same source posting, currency, pay interval, location scope, and evidence type on consecutive successful UTC dates. - Calculation: Compare the matched lower and upper bounds and publish the event only when at least one bound changes and exactly one range exists for the matching key on both dates. - Grain: Posting × source-native range key × consecutive successful UTC dates - Interpretation boundary: Collection gaps, ambiguous multi-range keys, or structured-to-description evidence changes are excluded; one event does not establish a companywide pay trend. ## Source policy Only public, unauthenticated employer ATS endpoints are in scope. LinkedIn, Indeed, login-protected sources, and bypassing access controls are explicitly excluded. A configured endpoint is not the same as a published longitudinal dataset. Company previews with insufficient history are marked noindex and omitted from the sitemap. A company page becomes index-eligible only after it meets the published freshness, coverage, activity, and comparison-window gates. The /companies aggregation remains a noindex source registry until at least 3 companies are index-eligible; after that gate opens, it becomes an indexable company hiring trends directory containing only eligible companies. Function and location aggregates use exact employer-provided labels without semantic normalization. A label page is published only from the shared exact 7-day hiring-pulse cohort when at least 3 eligible companies have a non-zero change for the same label and the combined labeled posting count is at least 10 at both boundaries. At most 20 pages per dimension are published from one artifact. Observations, not inference: Advertised job counts describe public hiring demand signals, not completed hires, headcount growth, business performance, or employer motives. 3. Source and time stay attached: Published observations retain their named public ATS source, collection time, coverage window, and method boundary. 4. Exact comparisons only: Trend language requires real successful snapshots at both exact boundaries; missing dates are not interpolated and first-day unknowns are not written as zero. 5. Corrections preserve context: A material correction identifies the affected observation, preserves its original collection context, and updates or removes publication when the evidence no longer supports it. - Correction review scope: Source identity, attribution, stale endpoints, derived counts, salary evidence, and publication eligibility are reviewed against stored source records and the versioned methodology. - Publication action: Material errors update the affected static observation or remove it from publication while retaining the local audit trail. - Current intake boundary: This static build has no visitor submission channel, contact form, project email, or collection of correction-request identity. A public correction channel is a deployment-stage decision. ## Citation guidance When citing a Posted Band observation, use the exact Suggested citation above and identify the relevant metric or observation window. The daily source coverage ledger measures current-cohort collection completeness, not hiring movement; partial and complete rows are not comparable trend points. Company key observations and report key findings are deterministic restatements of the adjacent exact-value tables. A company observation without an exact 7/30/90-day boundary is a point-in-time snapshot, not a trend. Verify summaries against their tables and do not extend them into company-performance, completed-hire, or headcount claims. Company history charts plot successful snapshots on actual UTC calendar time and do not interpolate across missing dates; use the adjacent HTML table for exact values. Hiring pulse report charts rank companies by absolute net change on a symmetric signed scale; solid bars show increases, light outlined bars show decreases, and the adjacent HTML table remains the exact-value source. Downloaded report SVGs identify Posted Band, the UTC comparison window, cohort size, method link, and public employer ATS source class. Department and location measures use employer-provided labels and may count a multi-label posting in more than one row. Current label-level salary disclosure rates divide distinct postings with parseable salary evidence by active postings carrying that label; they must not be summed or treated as normalized job families. Source-native salary distributions keep original currencies and pay intervals separate; their medians describe range observations, not distinct postings, and are not annualized or converted through foreign exchange. Salary disclosure changes are percentage-point changes calculated from disclosed and active posting counts on the exact boundaries; cross-company rates use combined counts rather than averaged company percentages. Salary range changes additionally require the posting and before/after observation dates. Do not describe advertised job counts as hires or headcount growth.
